Resolve "Move inference to start of pipeline"

Moves metadata (species, endness, spike, stranded) to the start of the pipeline and does not use any user entered metadata for any downstream processes

it's not meant to be a fix, ulimit -a displays resources. it started working before this was even pushed

Ah okay. tried ulimit -Ss unlimited, doesn't seem to solve the issue.
